On August 23rd 2009, we sent our very first tweets - a little
late to the Twitter party, but there all the same. What was
intended to be an interesting little hobby has since turned into
something much more time consuming and infinitely more
satisfying.
Two years later we're within touching distance of a mammoth
twenty thousand tweets, we've got well over five thousand followers
and around one hundred and fifty days of track action under our
belts. On top of this our Twitter adventure has become the
centerpiece of a whole range of exciting projects, including our
own website and a growing Facebook presence. We're proud to have
assumed an important position in the lives of so many fanatical
Formula One fans.
As one of two founders of F1Lite, I can tell you our ambitions
were pretty modest to start off with. It took us four months to get
our first hundred followers, and now such numbers are pretty much
par for the course on raceday. Although it's a cliché to say so, we
couldn't have managed what we have without the hard work of some
really important people: my co-founder Felix, our website editor
Flaviz, our new associate Darren and dozens of fan bloggers. Of
course, we do the majority of our work for our ever growing
worldwide network of followers. We're grateful for their continued
loyalty, and they've come to expect a high quality service.
Throughout all of this we've retained our huge enthusiasm for
all things F1. We couldn't be bigger fans of the sport, and to have
the chance to share our thoughts with so many others who are just
like us is a very unusual privilege, one which we try not to take
for granted.
So what's next? Well, nothing is ever certain, so I won't be
making any predictions right now. We want to get bigger and better
still. What I can pretty much promise is that we are looking
forward to a fantastic end to a brilliantly entertaining season,
and we'll be there every step of the way. We hope you'll join us
for what's set to be a heck of a ride - and if you appreciate our
efforts, then why not invite your friends?
