Jenson Button emerged with the fastest time from a
rain-hit Second Practice session at the Circuit de Monaco,
comfortably beating Lotus' Romain Grosjean and Felipe Massa for
Ferrari.
Starting at a 2pm local time, the session opened under cloudy
skies. Many teams opted for cautionary runs, and sure enough the
heavens opened at around the quarter-hour mark. Intermittent
showers continued to plague the rest of the afternoon's running,
ensuring that the earliest times were not bettered.
McLaren's Button, who had earlier complained of chronic grip
issues, recorded a 1.15.746 to ensure his place at the top. He was
followed by Grosjean, Massa and Alonso ahead of last weekend's
winner Pastor Maldonado, who replicated his morning performance to
go a solid fifth for Williams.
