I thought I would give you a preview to the interactive 3D circuits we've been working on here at PortalF1.
We aim to have albert park on the website either tomorrow or the day after.
The 3D circuit runs in true 3D using a popular browser plugin, called Unity 3D. If you are unable to get the plugin working, we will supply a video of a lap via YouTube.
The 3D circuits feature play/pause functionality. The ability to pan around and view the circuit from the camera line. A green line, highlighting the racing line. A real-time map overlay, to see where you are on the circuit at any given point. Map information on all the corner speeds, G-force, correct gear and notable corners.
We will be working on developing the interactive circuits' functionality throughout the F1 season, so all feedback will be welcome. For now though, here are some screenshots of what's to come:
