Despite numerous spy shots taken at Silverstone last week, the Mercedes W03 was officially released to the world's media in Barcelona today, just minutes before the second pre-season test of the year began.

    Caterham have announced that Vitaly Petrov will replace Jarno Trulli at the team in what was an unsurprising decision. Petrov was booted from Lotus at the end of last year following criticism by the Russian to the team earlier on in the season. 2012 would have been Jarno's 15th year in Formula 1, a career that spanned 252 starts, 11 podiums, 4 pole positions and 1 win.

  • Kevin Magnussen gets promoted at McLaren

    19 year-old Dutchman Kevin Magnussen has been promoted in McLaren's Young Driver Programme with the team confirming that he will test a McLaren F1 car at the young driver test later this year. Kevin is the son of Jan Magnussen who drove for McLaren and Stewart in the mid to late nineties, notching up twenty-five race starts and one career point. Kevin Magnussen came second in last year's British F2 championship, taking seven wins and eight poles.
